Our patient participation group have recently met, read the minutes of the meeting. We are looking for a new chair.
This year we are holding our flu vaccination clinics for patients that are eligible and who have received an invitation letter.
Please attend the clinic date you have been allocated. Our walk-in clinics are on the following dates:
Saturday 19th October between 8:30am and 11:30am St Aldhelms Church Centre, Spa Road, Weymouth – Over 65’s only
Monday 18th November, between 5:00pm and 7:30pm at The Dorchester Road Surgery – Under 65’s only
Saturday 30th November, between 8:30am and 12:30pm at The Dorcheseter Road Surgery – Under 65’s Only
During the week of 14th October 2019, the staff at The Dorchester Road Surgery are supporting BREAST CANCER AWARENESS WEEK by wearing PINK. Any donations to support this cause are very welcome.
When you telephone the surgery to book an appointment, the receptionist will ask you the follow question:
“To help you make the correct appointment, I need to know a little more about why you need the appointment.”
The receptionist may also ask both/either/none of the following two comments, depending on the response…
It is not always necessary to see the Doctor; a Nurse Practitioner or a practice nurse may be more appropriate
Whatever you say will be treated in the strictest of confidence
This is because the receptionist has a number of alternative types of appointments available, and they need to offer you the most appropriate appointment to deal with your problem. The most appropriate appointment may be with the GP for example, or perhaps with another member of the practice team.
In this way, on the occasion when you really do need to see a GP, there is more likely to be a free appointment for you.
